NEWARK, NJ, June 23, 2003 - The Bears hosted Cost Night featuring the PNC Bank U.S. Flag Hot Air Balloon at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Thursday, July 3rd. Following the game, there was a Fireworks display presented by C.O.S.T. Coalition of New Jersey.

Before the game, Churches Organized to Stop Tobacco (C.O.S.T.) held a pre-game presentation displayed by youngsters which discussed the dangers of tobacco use. C.O.S.T. is designed to be an innovative outreach and prevention program to change the way communities and churches perceive and act upon tobacco and other prevalent health issues that stem from tobacco use.

That same evening, the PNC Bank U.S. Flag Balloon made an appearance on its way to the 21st annual Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning. It is one of the largest in the world, and measures 53 feet tall by 78 feet wide and 29 feet front to back. “The PNC Bank American Flag Balloon is our way of honoring our troops, who so bravely and proudly protect our freedom,” said Howard Freeman, Executive Producer of the Festival.
